Warp & Weft Float Table Runner on the Rigid Heddle Loom
Sundays December 3, 10:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and December 10, 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Come hone in your pick up stick skills while creating a beautiful table runner! In this two part class students will weave warp and weft floats, with plain weave borders, as well as learn how to hemstitch on the loom. Warp and weft floats are such a great way to bring in added texture into handwovens as well as provide an opportunity for unique color interactions. Students will have the option of working with either a cotton bamboo blend or cotton linen blend, both yielding beautiful results to showcase on your dining room table!
Double Weave on the Rigid Heddle Loom
Thursdays October 5, 12 & 19th 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Learn how to maximize the potential of your rigid heddle weaving by using two heddles at once!
In this class students will learn how to weave two layers of cloth at the same time to create a closed tube as well as double width fabric. If you are looking to weave wider pieces, double weave will open that door allowing weavers to create pieces twice the width of their loom!
This class will also cover using two heddles to accommodate thin yarns and obtain a sett of 20-24 ends per inch as well as a basic introduction to twill patterns!
Tips for Successfully Designed Handwovens Plus Project Planning Help
Thursday September 21, 2023 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Often the hardest part of weaving is knowing what fibers to choose, what colors to mix, what weave structure is best for your project and how best to finish a piece. In this class students will learn all about how to match heddle/reed sizes to yarn weights as well as how to adjust sett based on weave structure.
Learn more about what yarns are best suited for the warp and weft as well as how to blend yarns of different weights and materials to create one cohesive piece.
In class Sara will show lots of samples and share ideas on how to get color combinations that will pop. A portion of class will be dedicated to reviewing warp and weft calculation questions and advice on specific projects are encouraged. This class is intended to help rigid heddle, table loom or floor loom weavers of any level continue their mastery of weaving.

Learn to Weave on a Table Loom - Introduction to Harness Loom Weaving
Sundays September 17th, 24th and October 1st
11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
If you are interested in learning how a table loom and a floor loom operate this is the class for you! Over the course of this three-week class students will learn how to wind a warp, thread a loom, read weaving drafts as well as weave a variety of eye-catching patterns on a four-harness table loom. Class will focus on creating samplers using cotton yarn to get the creative juices flowing for future handwoven projects!
Materials are included in class fee. Loom rental is not included.
Students can use their own loom - a Cricket loom with a Quartet or a harness loom works great!
Overshot Harness Loom Class
Thursdays August 24th 10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., August 31, 2023 and September 7, 2023 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Overshot, a block style fabric, is a go to weave structure for many weavers. It is a style that has been popular in North America since the turn of the 19th century mainly for the creation of coverlets. Now overshot is used for a variety of fabrics and is such a fun way to explore and create patterns on a four harness loom! In class students will learn how to read and create overshot patterns as well as set up to weave either a sampler, hot pads or a narrow runner.
Rigid Heddle 1
Sundays August 13th, 20th and 27th
11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
This class will introduce you to the power of the rigid heddle loom! We’ll cover weaving terminology, how to set up the loom and of course how to weave. We’ll create a variety of fabrics and textures using plain weave and pick up stick patterns.By the end of the class you will be able to warp and weave on the rigid heddle loom on your own. This class is perfect for anyone who has been wanting to learn how to weave but hasn’t been sure where to start!

Brooks Bouquet Summertime Scarf
Thursdays June 15th and 22nd
10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Come weave a beautiful open and airy scarf just in time for summer! Weaving with a cotton linen blend this scarf is a great opportunity to build on foundational weaving skills while also adding a new skill to your weaver’s toolbox brooks bouquet! Brooks bouquet is a lace-making technique that is perfect for creating a piece filled with great texture that is just the right weight for summer.
